Futurist Professor Joe Little will deliver the 2025 CRISP Annual Lecture

Abstract

The next 10 years are likely to be the most crucial for mankind and, in terms of cyber security, surveillance, privacy and truth, the most vital for us to raise our game. Professor Joe Little is a futurist and he will be exploring all of these topics as well as advances in Biotechnology, Neurotechnology, AI, Quantum and robotics with a futurists view that cyber security and surveillance specialists will need to take heed and prepare for. He will be giving us a glimpse of what is possible and what we may need to guard against.

Speaker Bio

Joe Little is currently an Honorary Professor at the University of Stirling and has recently been a Senior Advisor to the Chief futurist at Deloitte. He has 38 years of industry experience at BP, BAe (Space and Comms) and beyond. His primary focus in the last decade and half has been researching emerging technology, educating executives and business leaders on their likely impact and disruption. He is the co-author of “The Entrepreneurial Campus Blueprint” which was formally launched as policy by the First Minister for Scotland on 28th June 2023. In June 2023 he helped author a report on the Future of the Space Economy for Deloitte NExT Futures team. In addition to this he has co-authored chapters in 2 books "Learning in 3D" with Karl Kapp and Tony O'Driscoll and "Next Generation Learning Unwrapped" with Nick Van Damm. He a certified Futurist with the Institute For The Future and was accepted into the Association of Professional Futurists in 2020. He has conducted several futurist workshops on the topics of The Future of BioTech, Heathtech, Cyber, LawTech, Sustainability, Environmental, Space and is currently working as a Futurist in Residence with the International Strategic Accelerator for Women. In 2021 he took up the honorary role of Digital Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Stirling and was awarded and Honorary Professorship in July 2022.

The CRISP Annual Lecture is a free public lecture and everyone is welcome.
